Anticipation
Everyone who wanted to participate in the war game activity talked about nothing else - who they wanted to join, who they wanted to hit, who they wanted to be teammates with, what sort of clothes to wear, etc.
The Game
Saturday - paintball challenge day! Those who were up to the challenge met at the Global Gutz Paintball Field, looking forward to a day that promised a stress-relieving adventure guaranteed to be fun yet painful for those who dared to participate.
Under the scorching sun, we attempted to outwit the opposing team, crawling on all fours, if necessary, to get behind the best cover, forever crouching low to ensure we won't be seen by opponents as move from one obstacle to the next, while endlessly firing our rifle, hoping to get a shot and put a member of the opposing team out of the game.
The Aftermath
Today is Sunday and my body hurts all over - it hurt to get out of bed this morning, my back screamed in agony as I bent a little to freshen up, my knees & thighs were shaking as I slowly descended the stairs and my arms refused to be raised above elbow-level when I tried to reach for something.
In Retrospect...
The paintball challenge was so much fun and I'm sure all those who participated are looking forward to more! Never mind that it was a bit expensive; never mind that we had to endure the scorching sun; never mind that we had to crawl through the obstacles to get the better of the opposing team; and never mind that we had to endure muscle pains a day after. I guarantee (though I'm not sure others would agree) that it would be all worth it!
