Effects of the Delayed 13th Month Payout

Thursday, December 28, 2006

There are those people, myself included, who rely so much on this payout to settle bills, particularly credit card bills. It didn't help at all when my due date passed and I had to incur finance charges for not settling my bill on time. Tsk tsk...

Extended mall hours - that's cool! However, I don't appreciate how difficult cab drivers can be when they know pedestrians are desperate for a ride home. If they do agree to bring you home, they'll ask for a ridiculously high extra charge, one doesn't have a choice but to wait patiently for a willing cab driver to bring you home.

On the bright side...

Window shopping is so much fun!!! I love looking at those cool gadgets I can't afford, clothes I cannot wear ever, accessories that would look ridiculous on me and eyeing those gift items I wish I can afford but couldn't. So, the extended mall hours and delayed payout really had me enjoying this activity for a while.

Given the limited time I had to shop for presents, I had no choice but to take full advantage of the late mall hours. I so appreciated all those extra hours so much that after a long dinner with friends at a restaurant in Serendra last Saturday, I had time to drop off gifts at home and go to Robinsons Galleria to buy gifts for family members I haven't had the chance to buy gifts for.

And finally, since the payout was so late, I didn't get to spend much on unnecessary expenses. I still have money left, which is more than enough to get me through the next payday! :)

Philosophies in Life

Sunday, December 10, 2006

Just want to share some philosophies in life I try to live by...
As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will.

You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.

You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.

You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love.

So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

Here's another from one of my favorite novels...
You can't outwit fate by trying to stand on the sidelines and placing little side bets about the outcome of life. You either wade in and risk everything to play the game, or you don't play at all. And if you don't play, you can't win.

I scored 42!!!

Friday, December 01, 2006

I was over at Tina's blog and saw her entry on Dr. Phil's personality test. I'm curious to find out how Dr. Phil would describe my personality. I scored 42, and apparently....
Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical, and always interesting; someone who's constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well-balanced not to let it go to their head. They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who'll always cheer them up and help them out.
I wonder if these are all true...
